Medicine Quality

Our medicines are sourced from ethical, world-class manufacturers that have been audited by the FDA and our founders have known for a lifetime. Like 40% of the medicines Americans take every day, ours are made outside of the U.S. Most companies try to hide the fact that they’re made elsewhere by saying “distributed by the U.S.”. Not us though. We are as proud of “made in India” as we are our own family. After all, it is a family of sorts – our relationship with the people that make our medicine goes back three generations.

Did you know that there are 3 drug recalls every single day? Cabinet is the first healthcare company to conduct batch-level quality testing through a 3rd party lab for allergens, carcinogens, gluten, and purity. This ensures that every batch of medicine that goes to market is high quality and free of harmful ingredients.

Yes! The lot # and expiration date can be found on the magnetic label and pouch.

For those with celiac disease or a gluten intolerance, we know how hard it can be to find safe medications and products you can trust. Every single bottle of Cabinet medicine is tested for gluten by an independent 3rd party lab. All products that meet or exceed the less than 20 ppm (parts per million) gluten regulation set by the FDA will have a gluten-free tag on the PDP (product detail page).

Packaging

The large bottles are 3" H x 2.25" W and the medium bottles are 1.5" H x 2.25" W.

The caps are made out of plastic. We are currently exploring using a plant-based plastic for these so that they can be recycled.

Cabinet pouches are made of 100% earth digestible (compostable) materials, specifically wood cellulose and biomaterials. They are also certified 100% backyard compostable and can be brought to local industrial or commercial composting facilities.

Cabinet refill pouches are made from wood cellulose and other biomaterials, all of which are 100% earth digestible. The pouches are back yard compostable, certified Lomi Approved, and municipal and industrial compostable (ASTM D6400).

Our bottles are made of 100% recyclable glass.

The bottles are shatter-tested, drop-resilient, and super safe for medicine. Hundreds of drop tests have beeen performed to ensure that the bottles are not easily broken.

The magnetic label fits securely in the top of the medicine bottle cap.

Use the camera on your phone to scan the QR code located on the back of the label to find more information about the medicine and to refill.

Our magnetic labels are made from galvanized steel and are recyclable!

For plastic bottles, you can order one of our free Cabinet Refresh Bags! Safely dispose of any unused or expired over-the-counter medicines and send us the empty plastic bottles in the prepaid Refresh Bag. We work with a recycling partner to ensure your plastic bottles don’t end up in our oceans and landfills.

Refresh Rules

  • We only accept OTC medicine bottles for tablets, caplets or chewables at this time

  • We can’t accept prescription bottles, liquids or medicine devices

For compostability, we do not have a compostable program but a quick google search in cities is really helpful for finding the best programs nearby. Worst case, if you throw our compostable pouches in the trash, it's still better than plastic!

You can buy our refillable bottles! Here is a link to where you can find them.

Yes, Cabinet’s color-coded caps are child-resistant.  Push and twist cap to open/close the bottle.  Child-resistance diminishes over time.  Contact Cabinet for a free replacement cap if child-resistant qualities have diminished.

A prescription transfer is what happens when you switch pharmacies. During the transfer process our partner pharmacy will contact your existing pharmacy to move your prescription over.

For now, we partner with a cash-pay only pharmacy. In many situations the prices are less than your copay!

Not yet, but we're working on it! In the meantime, you can place and order and get a receipt from your account portal to send in for reimbursement.

Absolutely! Please email our pharmacy team at pharmacist@cabinethealth.com and we'll get right back to you.

At this current time, our partner pharmacies cannot ship controlled substances.

Generally, our partner pharmacy can fill most non-controlled, oral dose prescriptions in Cabinet's compostable refill pouches. They currently do not fill liquid, cream, or compounded medications. We'll contact you directly if the pharmacy has any issue transferring your prescription.

Sustainability

Innovating in the pharmaceutical space is exceptionally challenging and there are a number of reasons why the industry has not adopted sustainable solutions quickly. Learn more about our journey in building the world's first (and only!) sustainable medicine system, here.

Cabinet has developed the only non-plastic packaging in pharmaceuticals to address the 194 billion single-use plastic bottles produced by the industry every year. In addition to sustainability in packaging, we invest in plastic offsetting for any plastic still produced in our supply chain, while also providing carbon neutral shipping for all of our customers.

We know we still have work to do, and as a certified B-Corporation we regularly measure our environmental and social impact to identify opportunities for continual improvement.

Profits from Cabinet sales are reinvested for research and development (R&D) as we build The Sustainable Healthcare Company.

No, our refill pouches are certified 100% backyard compostable, and have also been certified as Lomi Approved. If you do take your compost to a local industrial or commercial composting, make sure to check with your facility to ensure that the pouches are accepted.

If you accidentally miss your dose of Escitalopram, take the dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose (within 2 hours), skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the usual time. Don’t take two doses of escitalopram at the same time.

During pregnancy: Atorvastatin may cause harm to the fetus. Other cholesterol-lowering medications may be preferred.

While breastfeeding: It's not recommended to use atorvastatin while breastfeeding. Consult your healthcare provider for alternative options.

It’s important to manage cholesterol levels during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as uncontrolled high cholesterol can have negative effects. Always let your provider know if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, so you can discuss the risks and benefits of starting or continuing treatment.

It’s recommended to avoid or limit the use of alcohol when taking Escitalopram. Alcohol can intensify the side effects of Escitalopram, including dizziness and sleepiness.
